Outer Banks Beach Clubs named RCI Gold Crown Resorts in Outer Banks
Outer Banks Beach Club I & II have exciting news to share for 2015! Both resorts retain their RCI Gold Crown Resort status due not only to excellent service but also the renovations that have been completed. The five year cycle we have retained for the past 25 years keeps our units up to those Gold Crown standards. We have added free wireless internet in our units. Our owners and guests are so excited when we give them the info at check-in, we get an occasional “Yeah!” here and there.
We have upgraded the linens and are receiving such nice compliments from our owners. They love the new set up for the master bedroom. Good bye to the bedspread and hello to the decorative sheets and queen size pillows. Who would have thought that upgrading the TVs to 42 inch flat screens in the living room and 32 inch in the bedrooms would be such a big hit, but it was.
Another exciting thing to mention is the opening of the OBBC Snack Shack. It is located around our OBBC I pool area. Owners and guests can purchase cold drinks, hot dogs, chips and not even leave the Beach Club. Owners and guests of OBBC II are invited to come over and enjoy the convenience of it, as well.
Not only do we have “Fun in the Sun” we also have a full time Recreation staff. They offer a variety of crafts such as bead jewelry, sand art, wreaths, seashell candles, and tie dye t-shirts. Other activities offered include: popcorn and a movie, bingo, ice cream social and painting and carving classes taught by a local famous artist, Hudson Williams. We also feature the famous “Amazing Stanley” the Magician who will astound and amaze you with his magical talents.

The Board of Directors has approved the addition of four elevators to our buildings that do not have them. Not only will these elevators help our owners who find climbing steps to be a little more difficult as the years go by, but hopefully will put resales at an entirely different level. This year buildings 1, 2, 5 and 6 received new kitchens, carpet, appliances and mattresses.

The most exciting news to share is the completion of the beach front elevator replacement project. This was the original elevator that was installed in 1980. Our owners are happy that is was completed in time for the summer. We have added a new playground area for the kids behind the buildings next to the check-in office. Mom and dad can grill and/or play corn hole while the little ones enjoy the swing and slide. This year buildings 9, 10, 11 and 12 received new kitchen and bathroom floors and mattresses. Buildings 2, 4, and 6 received all new appliances. The pictures with flowers have been replaced with ones with beach themes. Buildings 11 and 12 will get their new bathrooms in the fall.
We would like to thank our Board of Directors and SPM for their support and confidence in our team at OBBC.
